548th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion (Mobile)

    

     The unit history of the 548th AAA AW Bn has been reproduced here in PDF format from the copy on file at the U.S. Army Military History Institute in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  The battalion's record was complied and edited by Lt. Fred V. Klemp, Jr. of Battery D. A unit roster with a list of decorated officers and enlisted men accompanies the narrative. 

 

     Arriving in France in October 1944, the 548th was attached to the 102d Infantry Division, Ninth U.S. Army.   The battalion is credited for participation in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns.
